How to Find Balance and Sustain It

Image
Balance is the key to a happy life. When we allow ourselves to stay grounded, we allow ourselves to grow deeper and taller. A determinant factor in our happiness is the balance of our energy. Our energy includes the way we think, act, speak, and how much time and attention we allot to various areas of our life. Balanced energy is never stagnant energy- there is always an input and output, there is always an inward flow and an outward flow. When we become too focused in the inward flow, we become hoarders. We become scared that we will lose and we believe there is not enough abundance to go around, so we try to take and take and keep it all without giving any away. We can not exhale and there is no release, just build up. When we become too focused on the outward flow, we lose our grounding. We do not allow ourselves to receive and only push ourselves to give, so we lose our power and allow our energy to dissipate without proper renewal and nourishment. We can not inhale and there is no...

How to Tell If Your Partner is the One/ Soulmate

Image
A majority of people in various stages of relationships often wonder whether or not their partner is "The One." Lots of us expect ourselves to one day find someone who will make our dreams come true and fill a space in our hearts that catapults us into eternal happiness. It definitely is not wrong to want this, but the path to fulfilling this desire gets awfully messy. Thanks to our strong tendency to neglect ourselves from giving ourselves the love, attention, honestly, and acceptance we need to consciously make our own dreams come true and feel the wholeness of our own heart and enjoy the choice of happiness right now, we give that power away and conveniently project it onto "The One." Yet, no one is ever "done" giving themselves love and attention. No one is ever "done" opening their heart and choosing happiness in the present moment. We all must continue to practice this way of being. The more we live in a state of connection to ourselves, th...

How Do You Get Over Someone? How to Get Over Your Ex/ How to Deal with Heartbreak

Image
How do you get over someone? How do you stop yourself from constantly thinking about them, wondering what they're up to, wondering if they still walk the same familiar routes you were so used to seeing them travel, wondering if they ever think of you and how they think of you and whether or not they want to? How do you stop having feelings for someone? How do you stop yourself from feeling overjoyed at the sound of their name and equally destroyed at the thought of their face looking adoringly at someone other than you? How do you deal with a certain empty feeling that ensues after someone so integral to your life, your style, your being, is no longer there beside you, creating a life with you? How do you accept the fact that the special someone is creating a life without you? There are lots of ways to go about it- many of these resulting in failure and some even cause an increase in the severity of your feelings. I know though, that there is a much easier, much more uplifting, muc...

Stick to Your New Year's Resolutions: Why New Years Resolutions Don't Work and How to Change That

Image
The New Year has come and a great many of us are still riding the motivational high of the promise of change and improvement emphasized by this new start. After a few weeks, days, or even hours, that high will die down and our to-do lists, micromanaged schedules, gym memberships, produce drawer, and daily journals will be thrown on the back-burner. We'll do this once, twice, and completely forget our new year's resolutions and abandon all hope and all effort towards achieving what we felt so excited and inspired to do. A major problematic aspect of this trend is intensity. It's quite easy to pump ourselves up and get excited about new goals- the inspiration feels real and extreme. Yet this feeling quickly fades and the motivation doesn't last because that level of intensity is (for most of us) unsustainable. Just like nothing drastic really happens at the turn on the second hand carrying us from one year to the other, we can't really expect a drastic change from our...

Thoughts on Privacy and Personal Boundaries

Image
We are all connected but we also exist individually. We have individual lives and with that comes the need for individual boundaries. Personal boundaries are important for our personal growth. With personal boundaries, we can concentrate our efforts on a specific desire or state. It is the personal boundary that helps us focus and keeps our energy and intentions from scattering. Privacy is an aspect of personal boundaries. No one has a right to demand that we admit our thoughts and feelings. When we want to keep information private for a reason, we usually do not feel the desire to express and share that information. This intention is not based on greed or hoarding, and it is not based on fear. What I am referring to is a genuine desire to keep information to yourself because it helps you grow and you are genuinely happy with that decision. How can this be so? Maybe someone has a disease or internal conflict. They might want to keep that disease or conflict private so that they can wor...
